Wimbledon-Furniture

Wimbledon-Furniture is delighted to offer for sale this lovely hand made in Russia solid silver with gold gilt internals Cloisonne Enamel cigarette case

I have two of these, the other is listed under my other items for sale

These are absolutely sublime, the craftsmanship is exquisite, it would take me a hundred years to try and do this kind of work, you have hundreds and hundreds of small mosaic style individual sections which have been carefully sculpted, then cast in the Cloisonne technique with enamel

The main body is solid silver, its 84 grade Russian silver and has the 84 stamped alone with the sideways facing head. This dates to 1880, it’s a very large cigarette case for the era, it would fit todays cigarettes with ease, most likely it was used for small cigars
